Adult Ministries

F.O.L.K.S.
The Fellowship Of Loving and Kind Seniors is for all adults over the age of 60. We do not have a set meeting time. We just get together for fun and fellowship whenever we decide. Most of our trips are made during the summer months and include such outings as picnics, sight seeing, visits to restaurants in the surrounding areas, shopping trips at various malls etc. Occasionally we meet at the church fellowship hall for a meal. There are times when we have special programs on topics of interest to our age group. example: Social Security issues, long term nursing care insurance, lifeline emergency system, etc. We most always have a Christmas gathering with an emphasis placed on the love of our Lord Jesus Christ. At these gatherings we usually have a pro
ject to help others: examples: canned good brought to give to Tri-C, items brought to make gifts to those in the nursing homes, cards made to send to shut-ins etc. Contact either Pat Luffman, Eva Lawrence , Alene Luffman or Raydell Carter for more information.

Brotherhood
Our purpose is to encourage and equip men to boldly evangelize the lost, establish them in their faith, and in bold obedience to God, develop vital Christ-like integrity and friendships, and to be a man God uses. Contact Charlie Sealey For more information.

WMU Organizations
Sharon Smith is the WMU Director.

High Spirits
To provide an ongoing ministry where women can grow in knowledge and understanding of God's Word through Bible study. Contact Pat Luffman.

Sisters In Christ
Sisters In Christ is a wonderful group of ladies who love the Lord, love to do mission projects and fellowship together.  There is no age limit on our group anyone is welcome to be a part.  We have a great time together!  Some of our activities include prayer for missions, our church and each other, missions projects to the nursing home, Cora's Charities, Lifeline pregnancy center, etc, and joint activities with other WMU groups.  We have regular meetings on the third Tuesday night of each month at 7pm.  We usually meet in the fellowship hall, alternate meeting places will be announced.  Each year we have a Costume Party in October which is always extremely fun and we have a Christmas party in December that is a wonderful time of fellowship. Throughout the year we have "Heart Sisters".  We draw names in January and this person is a secret "Heart Sister" that you send cards, gifts, prayers, etc. throughout the year. Heart Sisters are revealed at our Christmas Party. At Sisters In Christ meetings we come together to worship God, learn about missions and fellowship with each other. It is a wonderful group to be a part of.

Youth & Children Ministries

We Have It All Here!

The Children's Ministry at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church is committed to partner with parents in putting the pieces together to help children build a strong spiritual foundation. We believe that church should be an exciting place that children do not want to miss! Our desire is for each child to know the excitement of being a Christian and having a personal relationship with Jesus. Our activities and studies fit together like a completed puzzle to guide children in their walk with Jesus.

Crossfire Youth
Crossfire Youth welcomes any youth of any race or religious background to join us in the pursuit of a deeper relationship with God.  We have fun filled outings, Bible studies and events.  We meet together on Wednesday nights at 7:00pm and on Sunday nights at 6:00 pm, and various weeknights for scheduled events or concerts.
We have many fun activities such as bowling, volleyball, even trips to Carowinds and Emerald Pointe Water Park.  We also attend lots of Christian music concerts of every music style (there's something for everyone!) and youth conferences, retreats and camps.  We go to Ridgecrest Conference Center in March and Uplands Reach Camp once every year.
You can definitely get involved--we're always looking for God-given talent and willingness! We are currently learning skits and sign art (sign language to music) to perform right now.   We also try to get involved in the community, and are even planning a mission trip for next summer.

Bible School
Denise Walsh is our Bible School Director. Nursery
We have two nurseries available during Worship service each Sunday morning. We have the baby nursery, for babies and toddlers from newborn up to 2 years
old.  The toddler nursery is for children 2 years old up to Kindergarten. There are wonderful volunteers who  rock, feed, change and play with the babies and toddlers while you enjoy the sermon in the Worship service.  The children are so precious and we are  blessed to have nice, clean, fun and safe places for them play while parents attend church.
